Romance and Chocolate
Romance and Chocolate
The Mayans came later. Mayans loved chocolate so much they wrote about the cacao on their stone tablets referred to as "the food of the gods".

Haunted Retreat
We blogged about this retreat once before, but today we were reminded about how much fun we'd had and how we need to do it again. Maybe this post will bring back all the memories and get us motivated.
In the spirit of Halloween, here's our ghost story.

Time's Enduring Love by Tia Dani
Time's Enduring Love
Libby Strammon believed her life was on track. A young woman of the tumultuous 1960's, she worked hard to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor so she could open a practice in the small Kansas farming community where she was raised. But when a perilous storm sweeps her back a hundred years into the past she is forced to rely on her instincts while navigating the changed world that a hundred years difference has wrought.
Kansas Volunteer, Lieutenant Matthew Dome's magnetic attraction to the slightly odd woman who appeared out of nowhere wars with past promises made—promises he'd failed to keep. He yearns to have the fascinating spitfire by his side, but can't let go of the past and his guilt long enough to convince himself she belongs in his life.
When circumstances send Libby and Matthew into danger, and a buried secret is revealed, Libby races against time to choose between returning to the 20th century she is familiar with or remain with Matthew who loves her but failed her once before?

We hope you enjoy reading our latest release. As you know we write in various genres, but it seems like time travel/paranormal and fantasy is our favorite.
We've been thinking about promo ideas so if any of you readers have an idea about what you'd like to see from us, please let us know. Tia (Chris) makes some lovely jewelry and greeting cards. We will be having some contests very soon and we're happy to offer either as gifts.
Check back often because we are planning some fun events.
Have a great week,

Finding Our Happy Place
The Tia Dani team survived November and has emerged from our turkey coma to find an entire new set of circumstances. It just goes to show you how fast your world can change in the writing industry. We gave our first workshop on ‘Team Writing’ and were pleasantly surprised at how well it went. The turnout for our workshop exceeded our expectations and we spoke with confidence and excitement about how we write together. We left the class with renewed energy and story ideas buzzing in our brains. We couldn’t wait to get together and put our ideas down on paper.
But then we received news that saddened our hearts and briefly took the wind from our sails. The publisher we dearly love and planned to submit our next story to closed their doors. Our time spent with Sapphire Blue Publishing has been wonderful and we wish them all the best. However, now Tia Dani has two books that are homeless and nowhere to send our almost finished story.
Over the next few weeks we’ll take a good hard look at our options and hopefully make a good decision -- at least one that works well for us. We’ve heard of authors making thousands of dollars on one book that they have self-published and we’ve heard stories of authors that are published with a small press making the same. We certainly have never made much money yet, but sometimes, it’s not all about the money. Oh sure money is good, and you bet we’d be glad to get it, but it’s exciting just to have readers compliment our work and tell us how much they enjoy reading our stories.
Anyway, for now, we’ll enjoy the holidays, the food, the family and good friends. In our spare time we’ll do some more research and keep on writing. Because that’s what we do. We are storytellers. And as far as the rest of it, remember when one door closes another door opens. Maybe behind the next door we will find our pot of gold. Or, at least, a happy place we will love to be.
Enjoy your holidays in whatever way you celebrate. We will see you next year!

Tia Dani‘s Writing Marathon
This has been another interesting week for Tia Dani. We started a new short story for a particular publisher and hoped to have it finished in a week. However, as usual, we got ourselves distracted and will be lucky if we get the first chapter finished during our set time frame.
We planned to start writing on Friday, but we had the annual Halloween party thrown by our friend and fellow romance writer, Kayla Janz, on Saturday night. So Friday required us to roam the mall deciding what costume we should wear.
First day of writing lost.
Saturday morning sent us running back to the mall for more costume ideas. Then the rest of the day required our attention for getting our costumes just right. We must admit we ended up pleased with our choice of outfits and we think we looked pretty darn good.
Didn’t get any writing done, but the party was fun.

Moving on to Sunday. We’re tired from all the partying we did last night. However, we managed to get the outline started for our workshop November 19th at the Scottsdale Library.
Sunday ended as not a total loss.
Monday we finished up notes for the team writing workshop and pulled the pages we’d started for the new story. Tried to get our heads into writing mode and fortunately we had lots of Halloween candy to help. Around
Writing zone lost.
Tuesday was much more productive. Discovered we needed better character charts on our hero and heroine. We selected their names, which is one of the hardest things for us to do. We want to have the names flow off our tongue easily. Since this is a historical romance, we finally settled on Abigail Turner and Jonah MacKenzie.
Now we’re on a roll.
First chapter done. It’s quite rough, but we’re happy with the way it’s progressing. Remembered we had a board meeting to attend with our local writing chapter, Valley of the Sun RWA. It was a productive meeting and afterward went with some of the girls for drinks. Got home late and were too tired to write. But, not too tired to play around on Facebook.
Tia discovered she has a stalker.
Wednesday started slow. Somehow we lost all track of time and got a late start on our manuscript. We had just got into the story when we realized it was lunch time. No worries, we’d get right back to our book after we eat. It was a good plan until Tia’s daughter called needing her to come home and baby-sit.
Only writing we managed to finish was this blog.
Better luck next marathon.
Don’t forget Tia Dani is giving a workshop on “Team Writing”, Saturday, November 19th. We’ll be answering any questions you might have about writing with a partner. Come meet us. It’s free.

Come fly With Me
A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW
Reviewed by: Chris
Like clockwork Bree is at the airport for her monthly sojourn. Building a business is hard work! But he’s there too. Mr. Sex God. She’s built a few fantasies around her fellow frequent flyer, but he’s always all business and busy. A girl can dream though.
Steven Cain has a motto. Work first, play later. But he notices the sexy redhead every month and wishes he could appoach her. Next month, he promises himself. But he can’t help himself from saying hi, and when their flight is delayed and they have time to talk, things progress much more than he could have ever imagined. Or hoped.
Haven’t we all had this fantasy when we spot that hot guy? Bree and Steven are aware of one another and have been for months. Their fantasies about one another make the transition from stranger to sex partner a little easier to accept as they have a “relationship” already. After the initial hormone storm passes they realize they’ve kind of skipped a few steps and we are left with the impression that while this relationship started out in the middle, so to speak, it will end up in the right place. With them together. A good quick read with plenty of steam.
